If the shoe fits…

I’m going on a big trip soon and will need a pair (or two) of stylish, yet comfortable walking shoes.

I already own this pair of Toms.  They are so easy to wear, but they have stretched a bit and feel a little sloppy.  Perhaps, I should have sized down.  Love Toms and love how they help others.

When I saw this cute pair of houndstooth slip ons, I knew they weren’t for my trip.  But they would be good for Fall.  They were at Marshalls, on sale for less than $50 and I should have bought them.  I didn’t and they were gone when I went back 😦

I thought this pair of Nine West black slips ons would be great, but they weren’t.  The shoe just didn’t fit.  It was uncomfortable. I guess that’s how Cinderella must have felt.

Last year, I bought this shoe and I see it’s back in stock.  It’s a black slip on by Fergilicious.  I never thought I would buy such a brand, but at the last minute I needed this kind of shoe. It was on sale for a ridiculously low price (relative to the original) and it fit pretty good.  A year later and they have had their day.  They are still in good shape, but there is not much support left in the sole and I can’t wear them for very long.  Say bye-bye!

When I was a teenager and into my early 20s, we all wore the basic white or blue Keds.  Today’s Keds have a few more colour and styles. So, when I saw this slip on I gave it a try. Surprisingly, it was the most comfortable of the bunch.   I didn’t buy it, but it might be a good summer shoe with the cotton uppers.  Still thinking…

Another Nine West shoe.  Thought this would look good with linen pants.  Uh, no.  Uncomfortable for me. I couldn’t get it off fast enough.

So, as you can see I’m still on the hunt for a slip on, stylish, comfortable walking shoe.  If you see one calling my name, please let me know!!

B is for Bootie

I sure do love my booties!   I have always had ankle boots, but over the past couple years, they seem to be calling them booties.  Whatever you call them, I like ’em!

My sister recently bought this lovely pair, and surprise they are grey:

I was convinced to buy Toms wedge booties after reading rave reviews about them on Pinterest Told Me To.  This blog has the best suggestions for fashion and excellent reviews.  I was not disappointed with these booties at all!

My next pair is your basic black bootie.  Goes anywhere and with anything.  They were purchased last year at Vince Camuto.  So sad that he passed away this week.  He was such a great designer.

IMG_6323 My most recent bootie purchase was a grey (yes, grey) pair with a stacked heel:

Although they don’t look grey, they are a bit of a dirty grey with a dash of brown around the edges.  Super comfortable, although they have a little bit of flannel inside and my feet tend to get a little toasty while wearing them.

Lastly, my Blundstones. bloodstones with boyfriend jeans

I wrote about them here last year and it is one of our most viewed posts.  Blundstones are a hard wearing boot.  They seem to last forever!  I prefer wearing mine with skinny jeans and pants, but I have also tried them with boyfriend jeans, although I am not convinced it is the right look (for me, anyway).

I have had my eye on this pair by Sam Edelman for months now.  But maybe I have enough booties, or maybe not…

Pinned it and wore it

My love for Pinerest has been expressed frequently in this blog.   So, this week I am going to show you what I pinned and how I wore it.

Months ago on Pinterest Told Me To, Sheaffer outlined some of the must have booties of the season.  I filed this information for my next shopping trip and finally ended up getting the Tom’s suede booties.

I love them!  But, I hardly wear them?  Why?  I sometimes forget, but mostly I find it easier to throw on some runners and go.

But I really wanted to change my ways, so when I saw this pin, I knew I could easily pull it off:

Here’s my version, which I wore out for dinner with friends the other night:

I deem this one successful (and easy) pinned it and wore it!

Weekend round up

Since this project is mainly about clothes, I thought I should post some pictures from my weekend. Yes, you will see a bit of grey, but otherwise there is some colour!

This weekend, I wore my new fav Hudson jeans most of the time and switched up the tops and scarfs.

The first photo shows a blue and white striped cardigan that I found at J Crew outlet. In the second photo, I have on my fav Lululemon sweat pants and yes, they are grey and oh so comfortable! The third photo is with my Pantone inspired boyfriend shirt and Toms. Lastly, I re-worked the first outfit by changing the to a jacket but keeping the scarf which has several great shades of blue.

I even had 2 compliments on the colours I was wearing and this never happened while I wore grey. Hmmmm. Things that make you say hmmmm…..
